Make it Easy for People to Contact You

Are you making it easy for people to contact you? As a solo professional or small business owner, you want to make it simple for clients, potential clients, and networking partners to reach you. Surprisingly, some businesses create communication barriers, making it difficult for people to contact them.

Here are three key areas to focus on to make it easy for people to contact you:

1. Email Signature. Think of your email signature as a digital business card. You want to include all pertinent contact information: your name, company name, email address, phone number, link to your website, and social media links, if applicable. Depending upon your business, you may want to include a link for contacts to schedule time with you or even add a link to sign up for your email newsletter. Your email signature presents an opportunity to make a lasting impression and foster connections with each message you send.

2. Contact Page on Your Website. Your website’s contact page should be easy to find. Visitors should be able to navigate to this page from any part of your site, such as the navigation bar in the main menu. It should provide multiple ways for people to contact you, including your email address, phone number, business address, social media links, and a way to schedule time with you, if applicable. Like your email signature, your website contact page facilitates communication and makes it easy for people to get in touch with you.

3. LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a powerful tool that provides an invaluable opportunity to connect with potential clients and networking partners. You want to be sure your LinkedIn profile is complete and has accurate contact information. Display your email address, phone number, and website in your profile for easy access. Optimizing your LinkedIn profile enhances your professional image and makes it effortless for potential clients and networking partners to contact you.

In today’s fast-paced business landscape, accessibility is key to fostering valuable connections and opportunities. By optimizing your email signature, website contact page, and LinkedIn profile, you can streamline communication and enhance your professional image and brand identity. Take action to ensure you’re making it easy for clients, potential clients, and networking partners to reach out.

Cheers to seamless communication and limitless possibilities!

Things That Bring Me Joy: Surprises

I love surprises. Always have.

Last month, I had the great privilege of celebrating my oldest son’s birthday in person (he lives in another state). That morning, he knew he had brunch plans, but he had NO IDEA I would be joining.

The original plan was that we would be his Uber to the restaurant. But… I couldn’t contain myself when I saw him outside, walking his dog. I walked up next to him. Being a New Yorker, he briefly looked at me but didn’t ‘see’ me. So I stood next to him and said nothing. When he finally turned to the annoyingly close woman standing next to him… surprise! The look on his face was everything! (A big thank you to Leonie for making the surprise possible and to Bill for getting us up and out early to drive to NYC for this joyful surprise.)

Cheers to celebrating you, Jonathan!

I know surprises aren’t for everyone. I have a few people in my life who do not like surprises. What about you? Are you a fan of surprises?
