How to Create Gmail Templates
To create Gmail templates, follow these steps:
- Open your Gmail: Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.
- Navigate to the “Advanced” tab: In the Settings menu, click on the “Advanced” tab.
- Enable templates: In the “Templates” section, toggle the switch to enable templates and click “Save Changes” at the bottom.
- Create your template: Once templates are enabled, go back to your inbox and click on “Compose” to create a new email.
- Compose your template: Write the content you want to save as your template. You can format the text, add links, images, and include placeholders for variables like recipient names. (Tip: Remove your email signature from your template as it will automatically populate when you create a new email using your template.)
- Save the template: Once your template is ready to go, click on the three-dot menu icon in the bottom right corner of the window. From the menu, select “Templates” and click “Save Draft As Template”. Choose “Save As New Template” and give your template a name. Click “Save” and you now have a new email template!
How to Use Gmail Templates
To use Gmail templates, follow these steps:
- Start a new email by clicking “Compose” or “Reply” from within an email.
- Access your template: Click the three-dot menu icon in the bottom right corner of the window, select “Templates.”
- Choose the template you’d like to use: The template will populate within the compose window.
- Edit and Send: Make any personalized edits or additions, add recipients, and click “Send” when you are ready to send the email.
